A GENETIC engineering information roadshow which will visit seven locations around the country begins tomorrow in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow.

The series of public meetings, which will be hosted by Beth Burrows, director of the Edmonds Institute, Washington, start at 8 p.m. They continue on Wednesday in the Ormond Hotel, Upper Ormond Quay, Dublin 7, Thursday in the County Museum, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk, on Friday in the Scariff Community Coop, on Sunday in The Metropole Hotel, Cork, on Monday 16th in UCG and on Tuesday 17th in Sligo RTC.

SCHIZOPHRENIA Ireland/Lucia Foundation continues its series of support courses for relatives and carers of people with schizophrenia next weekend, June 14th and 15th, in the Sacred Heart Convent, Bessborough, Blackrock, Co Dublin.

DR Susan Jeffers, a psychologist and author of several self help books including Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway, will give a one day seminar next Saturday, June 15th, in the RDS Concert Hall, Dublin.

Dr Jeffers, who has written extensively about her own life threatening brush with cancer, will outline how to become more powerful in the face of fear and take charge of your life, how to move towards an understanding of how to enhance and not alienate intimate relationships during a period of personal growth and development and how to create more meaning in life.

BRAINWAVE, the Irish Epilepsy Association, is currently offering places on the "Planning My Future" training programme which starts at the beginning of July.

Based in Griffith College, Dublin, this is a full time, six month programme designed for people with epilepsy and covers all aspects of career guidance and self development in a supportive setting.

It is necessary to be registered with the NRB and approved by an NRB adviser to gain a place. The course has no fees or loss of benefits - a training allowance will be paid and a bus pass provided.

THE Irish Association of Drama, Art and Music Therapy is holding a one day workshop called "Spaces" next Saturday involving experiential workshops, presentations and an exchange forum to all those interested in arts therapies. Arts therapists' work involves the consideration and negotiation of many spaces: ambient, personal, interpersonal, group, emotional, verbal, etc. and all materials will be provided.
