LIFELINES:Supporting women with breast cancer is the theme of a free national conference for female survivors of breast cancer on Saturday in the Croke Park conference centre, Dublin 1.
Speakers will address topics including the psychological effects of diagnosis, advances in treatment and reconstructive surgery. Workshops will explore issues related to fertility, sexuality and treatment for lymphoedema. The conference is organised by peer-to-peer support programme, Reach for Recovery, and the Irish Cancer Society's Action Breast Cancer programme. Freefone 1800 309040 for details.
Alexander Technique courses
Alexander Technique teacher Richard Brennan will host introductory courses to the technique over the next few months. Celebrating carers with awards
The Carers Association is currently seeking nominations for its Carers of the Year Awards. The awards are a celebration of the phenomenal dedication and care provided by family carers to their loved ones, those with special needs, disabilities and the terminally ill. Rude Health at the RDS
Rude Health, the natural health exhibition and seminar programme, will be held in the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin on Saturday and Sunday. The exhibition is a showcase for a wide range of food and health products available in health stores. It is also an opportunity to hear experts speak on nutrition and its links to health.
