A man who was shot in the face during a break-in last year at the home of an elderly Co Galway farmer pleaded guilty yesterday at the Circuit Criminal Court in Galway to aggravated burglary.
Sentence will be passed next week on Kevin Curran (22), of Castle Park, Galway city, who admitted a charge of aggravated burglary and entering as a trespasser with intent to steal, while being in possession of a knife, at the home of Mr Patrick Duggan (76), at Kiltrogue, Claregalway, on December 13th.
Judge Kevin Haugh remanded Curran on continuing bail until May 3rd.
