Paris - Two inmates of a prison south of Paris have released a pair of guards they held hostage for 18 hours after an attempt to escape by helicopter went awry, police said yesterday.
Mounir Ben Bouabdellah (25) gave himself up to prison officers immediately after releasing the two guards, while Christophe Khider (30) remained barricaded within the prison complex until he also surrendered two hours later.
