THIS week's good weather caused a drop in cinema and theatre attendances - not even Van Morrison and Ray Charles could sell out at The Point on Monday - so the most popular events are likely to be outdoor weekend ones.
Today at the Steam Museum in Straffan, Co Kildare, Robert and Sarah Guinness are hosting a barbecue in aid of the Friends of the Rotunda Research projects. The fun starts at 6 p.m. Tomorrow Jim Harkin and Ian Fox are hosting an afternoon tea party on their terrace at 62 Highfield Road in Dublin's Rathgar to raise funds for Friends for Friends, an organisation which assists those infected by HIV. It's from 3-6 pm., admission costs £25 and straw hats and boaters are encouraged.
