Retief Goosen, winner of the 2001 and 2002 European Tour Order of Merit, said today he would play limited tournaments on the content in 2004 and would instead focus his attention on the US PGA Tour.

Goosen, the 2001 US Open champion and a European Tour regular, said he would cut out Australian and Asian events from his calendar and play limited events in Europe so that he could concentrate on doing well in the United States.

The South African said he felt the strain of travelling and was looking forward to a break from the game later this month.

"Yes, I am tired," he admitted. "I was very close to not playing this week (Nedbank Challenge), but at the last minute I was persuaded to play.

"It has been a long couple of months and I have played a lot, so I am looking forward to the month holiday coming up at the end of this week."
