Matt Gogel made a birdie on the 18th hole to win his first PGA title last night at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Two years after blowing a seven-stroke lead with seven holes to go, Gogel earned a measure of redemption with a three-stroke victory over fellow American Pat Perez.

Lee Janzen and Andrew Magee shot 73 and 72, respectively, in the final round to finish tied for third. They were four shots adrift of Gogel, who finished with a 14-under-par 274.

Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal and Phil Tataurangi of New Zealand tied for fourth with Jerry Smith at eight-under par 280.
