A girl (16) has been arrested in connection with a fatal gangland shooting in west Dublin last week.

She was arrested in Tallaght this afternoon in connection with the murder of Séamus O’Byrne (27) and is being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Terenure Garda station

Mr O’Byrne was shot on Friday night outside a house at Tymon North Park in Tallaght,. His partner (26) tried to grab the gun off the killer and was wounded in the leg.

Three men, arrested last Friday night, are still being held at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda stations.

The men - one in his late teens and two in their mid-20s - were detained after a car in which they were travelling was stopped by members of the Organised Crime Unit in Crumlin about three hours after the murder.

Gardaí believe the attack is linked to an ongoing feud between two drugs gangs in the Dublin suburbs of Crumlin and Drimnagh.

Mr O’Byrne’s killing is the 11th murder in the feud and four other fatal attacks are indirectly linked to the same dispute.
