Leyton Hewitt's red-hot run at the Franklin Templeton Classic at Scottsdale was ended in the semi-final by giantkiller Francisco Clavet last night.

The Spanish veteran took advantage of the Australian's rash of unforced errors to claim 6-3 6-4 victory.

"I played (Marcelo) Rios and beat him last night," Hewitt said. "I felt like I played my final last night. My legs didn't have it in them to run aroundand crack the forehand."

Clavet will have to wait to find out who his opponent in the final will be after unseeded Israeli Harel Levy and third seed Magnus Norman ofSweden were kept off the court by the showers and the match was re-scheduled for today.

"I don't know why I play so well here," said Clavet, who has accounted for Andre Agassi at the venue for the past two years. "I feel comfortablehere, it's a very relaxed atmosphere. When you feel good, you play well also."
