Getting into the closet

A riddle: more than half live in a city, there are 38 in total, all of them tell a story, but not all of them are active. What are they? Why, wardrobes, of course.

The wardrobes, at Project in Temple Bar, are now receiving visitors. You may be invited in to some of them to have tea and cherry Genoa fruitcake as part of a unique closet experience! Those responsible for these walking, talking, happening wardrobes include artists from Wales and Ireland, supported by Pact@Temple Bar and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Some of them are Lian Bell, Fergus Byrne, Mari-Aymone Djerbi and Ros Kavanagh. Jo Shaphand from Llandudoch is getting ready to perform. Playwright Lucie Foley is already in the wardrobe ready to pour tea and chat with anyone who drops in. Director and model Armelle Du Roscoat (who directs Dha Chluas Capaill ar Labhras Loinsigh at the Civic Theatre in Tallaght next month) and artist Fergus Byrne are checking out Wardrobe City. It's mad really, but it continues today at Project, following a three-week collaboration between the artists. Then the wardrobes will be deactivated. Whew.
