Nashville - Country superstar Garth Brooks has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences with his wife, Sandy, according to court documents.
Documents filed on Tuesday in Davidson County Circuit Court under his full name of Troyal G. Brooks said the couple separated in March last year and that Sandy Brooks moved back to their native Oklahoma the following July.
The filing came as no surprise as Brooks (38) had openly admitted marital difficulties for several years because of his frequent absences from home.
