Gardaí seized two loaded guns and a car fitted with false plates following a car chase in Co Wexford last night.
A sawn-off shotgun and an automatic pistol were found in a hedgerow after gardaí chased a Nissan Sunny car carrying two men in New Ross.
The officers lost the car in the Scarke area outside the town. They later discovered the guns and the car - fitted with false registration plates - hidden in a field. No arrests were made and investigations are continuing.
