Gardai in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, have failed to locate the chain of office stolen from the chairman of the local urban council. The gold chain is insured for £4,500 and is worn on civic occasions. It was taken from a parked car.
Gardai say they are following a definite line of inquiry.
