Gardaí are looking for witnesses to a suspected "hit and run" incident in Co Cavan which left a man in critical condition in hospital.
The 29-year-old local man was found on Rocks Road, Kingscourt, with serious injuries at 3.20am last Monday. The man had been walking home alone at the time of the incident.
He was take to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth where his condition is described as "critical".
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anybody who may have useful information to contact them," a spokesman said this morning.
Officers are also appealing to local garages and the motor trade who have been asked to repair damage to a vehicle in the last three days.
