Gardaí in Galway are seeking public assistance in tracking down two men who allegedly carried out an indecent assaulted a 15-year-old girl in the city centre yesterday morning.
The incident occurred at around 8.10 a.m. yesterday morning as the girl was on her way to school. It is understood she was overpowered by two men and taken down a laneway leading off Eyre Square.
Gardaí are reasonably confident that the men can be identified as there were a lot of people in the area at that time. They are also studying CCTV footage and have received a large number of phone calls from the public already.
The girl escaped after kicking one of her assailants.
Gardaí have again appealed to anybody who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around St Patrick's Avenue yesterday morning to contact them.
