Gardaí are seeking assistance in trying to identify the body of a man found in the Royal Canal yesterday morning.

No foul play is suspected in the man's death which gardaí believe was the result of an accidental fall.

The body was found in the canal beneath the Canal Stand of Croke Park at 8.30 a.m..

The man is described as Caucasian, in his mid 20s with dark hair and is around 5 foot, 5 inches tall.

He was wearing a denim jacket, denim jeans and Adidas runners without socks. He was also wearing a pink/red check shirt with a white T-shirt underneath.
