Two men arrested yesterday by Garda investigating the 1998 Omagh bomb are still being held today.

One man in his forties was detained in Co Monaghan and the other, who is in his thirties, was detained in Co Louth. Both men are being questioned at Carrickmacross Garda station.

Both were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act and can be kept in custody for up to 72 hours without charge.

Colm Murphy, of Co Louth, is the only person so far convicted in connection with the atrocity by the Real IRA that killed 29 people and injured almost 300 others.
