Gardaí have named the four Polish nationals who were killed after their car was in collision with a lorry in Co Cork on Friday night.

They were Sylwester Szezyrow (25) the driver of the car, Andrzej Wojciechowski (27), Radoslaw Nowak (23) and Rafal Corski (28) all of whom had addresses at Ballincollig, Co Cork.

The collision occurred at Goggins Hill, Ballinhassig.

The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital for treatment after the crash, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

So far this year 122 people have died on the State's roads.
