Gardaí are investigating an incident in West Dublin early this morning in which as many as eight gunshots were fired at a man.
The incident happened in Clonsilla shortly after midnight as the man was making his way to a house in Lohunda Crescent.
It is understood the man, who is in his 20s, was injured in the foot. He was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown, where his condition is not thought to be serious.
Gardaí have sealed off the area for a forensic examination this morning.
