Gardaí in Cork are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a man missing for more than a week.

Gardaí in Cork are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a man missing for more than a week.

Patrick Duane (26) has been missing from his home at Glenthorn Park, Dublin Hill, in the city since October 18th.

In the 10 days since his disappearance, the unemployed Cork man has not been in contact with his family or friends, and is not answering his mobile phone.

The Duane family issued an emotional plea to their son, who has not collected his social welfare benefits in the last week, to return home.

According to his family, Mr Duane was in good spirits when they last saw him, with no apparent reason for his disappearance.

"We are all devastated - he has never done anything like this before.

"We just want him to come home or contact us to let us know he's safe," his mother, Mrs Roma Duane, said.

The missing man is described as five feet, nine inches, and of stocky build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans with a white jumper, cream jacket and white runners.

Gardaí at Mallow Road Garda Station are investigating his disappearance and can be contacted on 021 -4309045.
