Gardaí have concluded their investigation into the death of a man who was stabbed in his kitchen, Dublin Coroner’s Court heard yesterday.

Michael Gallagher (60), was killed on January 18th, 2007, by two men who barged into his home on Tymonville Road in Tallaght, Dublin.

The father of five’s family believe his death was the result of mistaken identity.

Det Insp John Walsh of Tallaght Garda station told Coroner Dr Brian Farrell that while the file remains open, gardaí have reached the end of their investigation.

“There are no active lines of inquiry,” he said.

Dr Farrell set a date for a full hearing of the inquest into Mr Gallagher’s death on November 7th.
