A male Garda officer was among three people taken to hospital in Dublin this morning after a stolen truck driven by youths tried to ram a patrol car and another car.

The incident happened at O'Devaney Gardens off the North Circular Road at 12.20 a.m. when a patrol car had stopped another car. A Garda spokesman said a truck approached the cars at speed in an attempt to ram them. The injured people were taken to the Mater Hospital. Their condition is not believed to serious.
