The Association of Garda Sargeants and Inspectors (AGSI) and the Garda Representative Association (GRA) have told their members to co-operate with the Garda Reserve process.
Interviews for the new reserve force are due to begin on Monday and recruits are expected to begin training by the end of September.
Both associations had previously said their members would not co-operate with the reserve force.
However, both have issued a circular to all members telling them to co-operate with any order they receive in relation to the processing of applications.
