Garda appeal after man assaulted in Cork

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being assaulted in Cork city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being assaulted in Cork city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The man incurred head wounds when an argument broke out in a house in Roman Street in the city shortly after 3.15am yesterday. The man, who is in his late 40s, was badly beaten in the incident.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

A Garda spokesman described his condition as being “serious but stable.” Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact gardaí in Cork city.
