Abuja - The Libyan leader, Col Muammar Gadafy, yesterday cancelled a trip to Nigeria at the last minute after he was refused permission to visit a northern state where Islamic law has been declared, a Nigerian official said.
A senior official in the office of Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo said Col Gadafy had been invited to give a speech today in Abuja on the theme of African unity.
