The funeral of the 29th Knight of Glin Desmond Fitzgerald will take place next weekend. Mr Fitzgerald, the last heir to one of Ireland’s oldest hereditary titles, died peacefully at his home on Thursday aged 74. He will lie in repose at his ancestral home of Glin Castle, Co Limerick next Saturday September 24th between 4pm and 6pm
His funeral service will take place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin at 2.30pm on September 25th. Burial will be for family and close friends. He is survived by his wife Olda and daughters Catherine, Nesta and Honor.
