The funeral took place on Saturday of Comdt Peter Young, Leixlip, Co Kildare, who for a number of years was military archivist at Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin. He established the current archives after their move from the old Army Intelligence Headquarters at Red House, Infirmary Road, and modernised indexing. He also guided the research of a number of books and films on the War of Independence and Civil War.
