Four years for possessing heroin

A woman who held on to €2.2 million worth of heroin for someone else has been given a four-year term at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Gwen Mills (34), Kilcronan, Clondalkin, kept the drugs in return for a small amount of heroin for her personal use.

James McDonnell (49), Lindisfarne Vale, Clondalkin, was seen by gardaí collecting the drugs and hiding them. He will be sentenced later.

Judge Katherine Delahunt suspended the last two years for four years on condition that she liaise with the Probation Service for 12 months.
