Four held over Tipperary arms find

Four men were arrested and a quantity of firearms and ammunition seized this afternoon in Co Tipperary.

Four men were arrested and a quantity of firearms and ammunition seized this afternoon in Co Tipperary.

The arrests were made by gardaí on patrol near Limerick junction railway station after two men were seen acting suspiciously.

When the men were searched a sawn-off shotgun, a pistol and 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition were discovered.

The men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested and are detained under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act at Tipperary Garda Station.

In follow-up searches at premises in Co Tipperary two other men were arrested.

The men, one aged 28 and the other in his early 30's, are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against at Cahir Garda Station.
