Four held in separate drug seizures

Four people were arrested in Cork after two drug seizures in the city over the past 24 hours.

Four people were arrested in Cork after two drug seizures in the city over the past 24 hours.

In the first incident, a vehicle was stopped by Gardai at Orchard Road at around 7.50pm last night. Four kilograms of what was believed to be cannabis was seized, with an estimated street value of €40,000.

Two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested at the scene and are currently in custody in Bridewell Garda station.

The second seizure occurred on the Blarney Road around 8.30pm last night. Gardai from Gurranabraher station discovered what appeared to be three kilos of cannabis, with an estimated street value of €30,000.

Two men, aged 23 and 24, were arrested at the scene, and were also being questioned under the Drug Trafficking Act.
