A woman (77) died in hospital this morning after being knocked down by a bus at Dublin Road, Renmore, Galway at about 12.40pm yesterday.

Elsewhere, gardaí today named the woman who died after she was struck by a motorbike in Co Clare yesterday as Mary McGuane (75) from

Ennis. She was hit shortly before noon some five miles outside Ennis, on the main Ennis to Kilrush Road.

A man died in hospital yesterday following a crash in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on Saturday.

Sean Devine (19) from Newbridge was cycling between the gates of Newbridge College and the roundabout at College Orchard when he was hit by a van late on Saturday night.

In Co Down, a man was killed and two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at Comber yesterday evening. All three were in the same car.
