Four men have been arrested in Limerick this morning in connection with ongoing Garda investigations into serious crime in the area.

The four are being detained under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act at Roxboro Road and Mayorstone Garda Stations.

They can be held for up to 48 hours without charge, before the gardaí can seek an extension. The men can be held for a total of 72 hours without charge before they have to be released or charged.

One of the four is a teenager, two are in their twenties and one is in his forties.

They were arrested at various locations in Limerick city this morning.
