Four men charged in connection with the death of student Brian Murphy (18) outside Dublin's Burlington Hotel last August were yesterday remanded on continuing bail until next September for service of books of evidence.

They are charged with manslaughter and violent disorder. They are Mr Dermot Laide (20), Rossvale, Castleblaney, Co Monaghan; Mr Desmond Ryan (20), Cunningham Road, Dalkey; Mr Andrew Frame (20), Nutley Lane, Donnybrook; and Mr Sean Mackey (20), Southpark, Foxrock. All were granted bail when they appeared in Dublin District Court last week.

Yesterday, State solicitor Clare Galligan applied for a lengthy remand as their charges would be dealt with in the Circuit Court.
