OUAGADOUGOU - The Organisation of African Unity (OAU) has received formal applications from two or three Africans seeking to succeed Dr Boutros Boutros Ghali as UN secretary general, Cameroon's Foreign Minister, Mr Ferdinand Oyono, said yesterday.
"We have already received two or three formal candidacies, and others are going to be coming forward," he said on the sidelines of the Franco African summit in Burkina Faso.
