Nottingham Forest have dismissed reports that Tottenham have renewed attempts to sign Republic of Ireland playmaker Andy Reid.

Spurs tabled a bid of between £2.5million and £4million for gifted midfielder Reid last week, only for Forest to reject the offer because it did not match their valuation of the 21-year-old.

But Forest have denied receiving a new combined £6million for Reid and Michael Dawson.

A Forest spokesman said: "To say we have received a new bid is simply not true. There has been no contact from Spurs since their first bid for Andy Reid was rejected last week."
