An English man has had his trial for offences during the abandoned Ireland England soccer international last year adjourned by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, to allow his defence team study videotape of the riots.

Mr Stephen Smith (30), of Westfield, Ashfield Caravan Site, Scunthorpe, has been remanded on continuing bail to October 14th next by Judge Michael Moriarty.

Mr Luigi Rea, defending, said the former Chief Justice, Mr Justice Finlay, had 10 hours of film. A cursory viewing of some of it seemed to vindicate his client, who was present in court.

Mr Smith denies charges of alleged criminal damage and disorderly behaviour at the Upper West Stand in Lansdowne Road on February 15th, 1995.
