Fog is hampering the air and sea search for a missing teenager which begn off the coast of Co Mayo today.
The search began this afternoon for the sixteen-year-old man whose father was taken from the sea in a semi-conscious state earlier today.
The father was taken taken to Castlebar General Hospital suffering from exposure. His condition has been described as stable.
The alarm was raised at around 12.30 this afternoon after dead sheep were spotted floating in the sea. The Naval vessel Ciara, an Aer Corps helicopter and the Ballyglass lifeboat were dispatched to an area off the Mayo coast near Belmullet.
Local boats have also been assisting with the search.
The father and son were aboard the Sea Swallowand were transporting livestock from a French port to the island of Iniskea, when their ship ran into difficulty.
