Five Dublin men charged in connection with an attempted robbery in Co Wicklow earlier this month when a raider was shot dead by gardai were further remanded in custody until July when they appeared at the Special Criminal Court yesterday.

The five are Mr Pascal Burke (34), of Marrowbone Lane; Mr Stephen Carney (22), of Dolphin House; Mr Saoirse Breatnach (19), of Cypress Court, Ballybrack; Mr Philip Forsythe (24), of Rollins Villas, Sallynoggin; and Mr Danny McAllister (43), of Cromlech Fields, Ballybrack.

They were charged with possession of an assault rifle and other arms with intent to endanger life at Cullenmore, Ashford, Co Wicklow, on May 1st.
