Three men and two women questioned in connection with the murder of Lee Slattery in Limerick two weeks ago have been released without charge.

The body of Mr Slattery (24), Ballynanty, Limerick city, was discovered by his father in a shallow grave near the Moyross housing estate in Limerick on April 30th. He had been shot in the head.

The men and women were arrested in Limerick at 7.40am yesterday, and are being detained at Henry Street, Mayorstone and Roxboro Road Garda stations in the city.

The five, ranging in age from 19 to 27, were held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. They were released this afternoon.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
