Liverpool - A mystery illness which has killed at least 30 heroin users across Ireland and Britain has spread to two cities in north-west England, where five people have died, health officials said yesterday. Two of the deaths occurred in Liverpool and the other three in Manchester.

Glasgow and Dublin have been the main centres of the outbreak. Seven others have died in cases in various parts of England and Wales. Health officials say although they can not yet prove a link between the cases, they show marked similarities.
