Four men and a woman were arrested today in connection with the murder of a young father whose body was found dumped at the bottom of a lake in Co Clare.
Gardaí investigating the death of suspected gangland victim Richard Kelly said they were questioning five people.
The 17-year-old, from O'Malley Park in Limerick, went missing on April 2006. His remains were discovered tied to a concrete block on the floor of Lough Bridget, east Clare last November.
It is believed he may have been killed by one of Limerick's notorious feuding gangs after being accused of stealing a car containing drugs that belonged to one of the gangs.
Gardaí from Limerick and Clare were involved in the arrests - the first in the murder investigation - at 6am this morning.
The five, aged between 20 and 36, are being held at Ennis, Shannon and Killaloe Garda stations under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Mr Kelly, who had a number of convictions for stealing cars, was last seen at 2.30am on April 24th, 2006, in the Daly's Cross area of Limerick.
