Five people were arrested and one firearm recovered during a series of house searches by gardaí in Limerick city this morning.
More than 30 officers were involved in the operation and four men and one woman were arrested. They are being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, and can be held for up to 72 hours.
They are being detained at Henry Street and Roxboro Garda Stations.
