Five young men have been arrested in County Cavan in connection with the seizure of a quantity of cannabis and ecstasy tablets.
Gardaí, led by Detective Sergeant Peter Hunt, arrested the five men just after 9 p.m. yesterday. Drugs valued at £35,000 were confiscated as well as several thousand pounds in cash and two vehicles.
The men are aged between 20 and 28 years. They are being questioned in Cavan and Monaghan Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act, 1996. They can be held for seven days under the Act.
