West Cork fishermen argued for bad weather compensation when the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources opened a new ice plant in the port of Union Hall yesterday. Dr Woods has set up a working group to examine the claims related to the recent prolonged bad weather, which has kept smaller vessels in port since October. Last week the Irish South and West Fishermen's Organisation said some members were living on £50 a week.
