The final local election seat in Dublin's Clontarf Ward still remains undecided after a recount was again adjourned late last night.

Fine Gael's Mr Naoise O'Muiri holds a four vote lead over Labour's Ms Orla Farrell.

Officials from both parties have for the last two days been examining 360 tagged ballot papers to assess whether or not they are admissible.

The process was adjourned last night to give the returning officer time to consider what impact a number of identified mistakes had on the original count.

A Labour spokeswoman told ireland.comtoday the vote was too close to call.
