Anti-wind farm campaigners in Co Donegal are expected to turn out in numbers tonight for the first screening in Ireland of a critical documentary detailing Airtricity's activities in a small community in upstate New York, writes Frank McDonald.

Windfallfocuses on a major wind energy project in Meredith, a small town in the Catskills mountains, and how it divided the local community.

It is to be screened at the Guth Gava (Captive Voice) film festival in Gortahork. An Airtricity spokesman did not comment directly on the film’s allegations, but said the company had sold its North America business to E.ON in October 2007.
