Kabul - Fierce fighting erupted near the Afghan capital yesterday as opposition forces claimed success with a series of raids from positions at nearby Bagram, sources and reports said.
Opposition spokesman, Mr Mohammad Habeel, said repeated attacks were started at dawn from the Bagram area, 50 km north of Kabul, and several villages had been captured.
