Fianna Fail is to ask the Government members of the Dail Committee on Social Affairs today to back its motion seeking an extension to the deadline for the Hepatitis C compensation tribunal.
The party's spokeswoman on health, Ms Geoghegan Quinn, pointed out that the extension of the deadline had been unanimously supported recently by TDs from all parties on the committee and a letter to this effect had been sent to the Minister several weeks ago.
In its private members motion, Fianna Fail is seeking to extend the June 17th deadline for victims' compensation claims to the tribunal until three months after the final court judgment is delivered in the first hepatitis case in the High Court.
