Paris - AIDS cases and deaths from the illness regressed in Europe last year, the European Centre for the Epidemiological Monitoring of AIDS said yesterday. AIDS cases in 1997 fell by 27 per cent to 16,447, and 32 per cent fewer patients, 11,724 people, died from the disease last year compared to 1996.
