Dublin’s Eamonn Fennell will remain an O’Tooles player for the foreseeable future after his request for a transfer to St Vincent’s was turned down. Fennell’s case was rejected at a meeting of the Dublin County Committee last night.

The midfielder has sought a move away from the O’Tooles club since 2007 but has found his way repeatedly blocked by the northside club.

While Fenell has already had his request turned down by the Competitions’ Control Committee (CCC) of the Dublin County Board, his case was considered at a special meeting of the County Committee.

However, the outcome was depressingly familiar for the player, who has described the issue as “heartbreaking” for him.
